Block cavity construction with a render finish. The vertical slate cladding on the front of the property was a lovely detail, a nice touch from the architect.
This build was a start-to-finish, and everything in between kind of job. Once we cleared the old garage and prepared the site, we set out the plot, digging the foundations, concrete, oversite and slab. At this stage it was time for the block work to go up and the wall plates and roof trusses soon followed.
Getting the building watertight was the next step, which meant roof on and doors and windows in. Boarding and plastering followed the first and second fix, plumbing and electrics. This is the only project to date that we’ve done with underfloor heating on both the ground and first floors, which was a good string to add to our bow.
I’ve done many patios over the years, and I always remember this one, as the symmetry had to be absolutely on point!
